The stand looks solid enough. It snaps firmly into place and easily supports my loaded bike (panniers and garment bag). The length is adjusted by pressing a button and moving the plastic leg down the leg. This allows you to optimize stability for the geometry and load of your bike. However, the foot is not really tight and snaps into place quite securely, but can rattle a bit when driving in rough terrain. The top of the stand (ie the mounting flange) has two M6 threaded holes 40mm apart. Make sure your bike has evenly spaced mounting holes. Also note that the package only contains M6x20 socket head screws with washers (on the right in the photo). Maybe you need something else. On my bike, the mounting holes are on the Marin sliding dropout (black in the photo). mounting holes are deepened; for mounting a luggage rack behind a dropout. I found that the M6x16 countersunk head screws (on the left in the photo) fit perfectly. Longer screws would get in the way of the brake disc and shorter ones would not engage all threads of the strut.
