It's been running outside under a bag in my duck pond for a few months now. I use it to keep the pond aerated to avoid anaerobic bacteria during operation. in a PVC pipe, like in an aquarium filter. I cut a large hole just below where the air hose enters the 1/4" fitting on the side of the 2" PVC pipe and glued it into the cap that bolts to the base. In a pond with dirty ducks, a water pump is out of the question as it will clog regardless of the filter type. It releases air that lifts a lot of water out of the manure. The difference in water quality is enormous, there is no longer a disgusting stench that you cannot get rid of for days. It's refreshing to have a device that can be restored these days.
