Review on πŸ”§ X-BULL Universal Winch Cradle Mounting Plate: A Versatile Solution for Recovery Winches by Roberto Garrido

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sturdy construction works best for assembly

I had to replace my previous winch mount because it wasn't long enough to remove the brush guards and lights on my new receiver mount front bumper. This cradle looks well made. The two things I liked most about this bassinet were the length of the downpipe from the back of the bassinet to the bolt hole (5 5/16") and the reinforced pipe mount. On most cradles I have seen in the photo "I have seen the pickup tube is only welded to the butt plate of the cradle. This X-Bull cradle is not only welded to the backplate but is also reinforced with another half tube welded on and almost the entire length of the underside of the bottom mounting plate. I have one Smittybilt X-20 10,000# cradle winch installed on it It fits but the stand is actually barely deep enough (front to back) for it and the magnet/motor cables Adjustable handles are a plus but for me it's not critical. I still had to run battery cables down either side of the handlebar mount to connect the solenoid to the motor, although there were no instructions and half the pucks were missing lte, overall it is a good product. It also included some very thin black washers which I have no idea but when I tried to use them they broke. This mount arrived a day earlier than expected and was well packaged. In fact, it was almost comical that it was a box within a box within another box! I haven't done anything with her in the field yet, but I'll let you know later.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Lightly dented
