week welds good for winch accessories

2" pipe looks solid but welds aren't very light in one critical area. Box opened, inspected and sent back. A gift to fit a new winch will be tied to a warning strut holding the old winch holds.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

What's wrong with this picture?

Coupling pin hole vertical (through square tube from top to bottom). I would have had to side mount the winch to fit on my hitch! The packaging also fell apart. Otherwise it looked ok. The welds and paint weren't too bad. How does the QC not notice the position of the holes? Sent back for a refund.

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability.
Cons
  • Out of fashion.

The photo shows a larger opening of the rope guide. .

The photo shows a larger hole for the guide. That's why I bought this one. It turned out that this had been altered from the photo and I had to enlarge the opening to keep my cable from rubbing on the ground when used with a Harbor Freight Badlands 12K winch. Also a bit lighter construction than I wanted but I think it's the same as the rest in this price range.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Communication with the seller

Smashed and threw my new Warn VR8 30 feet in the dirt.

The cradle moves out of the receiving part. The winch is just an 8000lb VR8 winch. The tree I was pulled up to was right behind the truck, about 80 feet away. This bracket has come loose from a piece that is going into the receiver on the vehicle, snapping the positive and negative wires from the winch. I will update the photo tomorrow. Before landing, the winch flew 20 to 30 feet through the air. Failure of this component could be fatal. Don `t save. Use the Warn carry case. Or be a $530 winch

Pros
  • Arouses trust
Cons
  • Little things

X-BULL universal winch mounting plate for recovery winches

This is a well made unit. It added weight to the Badlands winches and was worth it. The pre-drilled bolt holes on the plate are perfect for the 12000 Badlands winch, and the dual pulleys that ensure the line rewinds evenly on the spool also have pre-drilled holes to match and nuts and bolts to attach with. All in all, this is a great choice for securing the winch in place for transporting items. Remember that your 2" hitch needs to be able to carry 6 tons or you might not have a great day.

Sturdy construction works best for assembly

I had to replace my previous winch mount because it wasn't long enough to remove the brush guards and lights on my new receiver mount front bumper. This cradle looks well made. The two things I liked most about this bassinet were the length of the downpipe from the back of the bassinet to the bolt hole (5 5/16") and the reinforced pipe mount. On most cradles I have seen in the photo "I have seen the pickup tube is only welded to the butt plate of the cradle. This X-Bull cradle is not only…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Lightly dented
