Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Ice Age The DVD Game: An Interactive Adventure for the Whole Family by Harry Tulsa

Revainrating 2 out of 5

For children ok; no adult fun

We ordered this after reading the 5 star reviews. Perhaps we should have looked more closely at the description. We really thought it would be a quiz-style game since it's made by Scene-it, but there's no quiz at all. You can replace video clips and game snippets with a different theme without changing the game. OK for kids ages 4-7 but my wife and I got tired of it halfway through the first session. From now on our children can play it alone. Short Description: The goal is to collect 4 acorns of your color (the place where you start). At the beginning of each round, you can turn over a tile to reveal an acorn or an empty tile. You move around the board and collect acorns as they appear. The number of locations you are allowed to move to is determined by the DVD portion of the game. There are 8 mini-games that you play (e.g. acorns under a bowl that you have to follow with your eyes). Some games require skill and others require sheer luck (e.g. a Plinko-type game). The results of each game allow you to move 1, 2 or 3 squares. Each mini-game is accompanied by one of the eight cutscenes from the film. You end up seeing the same clips multiple times during each game.

Pros
  • Easy to use
