Use the gloves when turning from the packaging. The manufacturer has a printed note on this. My hands aren't skinny and I could tell that spinning without gloves would probably cut. But I just had to turn it around. So, mount it on a piece of wood, stand on it and turn it around. Kids are going to have a hard time breaking THIS turntable - MADE IN THE USA - RIGHT!
