I replaced the filter cartridge (American Plumber WVC-34), cleaned and lubricated the sump and o-ring. Leakage when I applied water, a drop every few seconds. Rather than messing around with an o-ring and whatnot, I ordered this 5 pack, replaced the o-ring, re-greased, no leaks. Bottom line: don't try to reuse the o-ring, just replace it with the filter. Miscellaneous: It took me half an hour to find confirmation that this and the other o-rings are the correct size and will not fit 3/4" pipes. Yes, it is the 4+ inch o-ring , which comes on top of the pan that holds the filter in place.It seems many filter vendors use the same size.
