The sound this thing makes is amazing. It has a surprisingly good bass range and volume for its small size. In fact, when placed vertically, the speaker can resonate with anything it's sitting on, even making the floor around my living room table vibrate to the music. I work the night shift and music is very important to keep me sane and awake. The battery lasts my entire 8-hour shift and then a little more, almost at maximum volume. The only problem I've had lately is that even when my phone is a few feet from the speaker, I hear stuttering and intermittent audio. I don't remember him doing that when I first got him. As for the reason? It could be fall damage as it has no traction in an upright position and slowly changes position depending on music and bass levels. I left the speaker unattended in an upright position and it just moved to the edge of my desk and countertop and immediately fell to the floor. There are little feet on the side so I'm pretty sure it's meant to be placed vertically, but I wouldn't recommend this unless you have some sort of barrier around the speaker to prevent it from falling .
