Review on VIVOSUN 1-Pair 1/8 Inch Rope Hanger with Improved Design, Easy Adjust, Reinforced Gears - 8-ft Long,150lbs Capacity by Brian Elliott

Not suitable for attaching a kayak.

I just used a couple of these to transport my kayak 300 miles across the country from California to Virginia. I bought 4 and 2 of them broke when I got out of the kayak. Keep in mind that I didn't rotate these things much and the mechanism broke (knobs jammed). The other two served as bow and stern attachments but rusted badly during the week-long voyage in the rain. PROS: Two of the four worked and helped protect my kayak on a 3,500 mile trip. A very thin rope creates a slight wind noise. CONS: Cheap. Buttons are cheap. A metal carabiner is cheap and rusts badly in the rain. Button mechanisms broke 2/4, 50% failure rate before I got a mile. GENERAL: A reasonable purchase at this price point, but given my exact application, I may try alternatives next time.
