The "leather" on my bar stools was coming off. I've been looking for new stools for months and couldn't find anything. Didn't realize stool covers were made out of leather - so glad I found them! They go very well with my low back chairs, even with a thick cushion. Care has to be taken when opening as the stitching can be flimsy and they appear to be constructed to fit snugly - which is great because I don't want the elastic to fray and slip off. I think it's between 4 and 5 stars. If the stitching was a little bigger it would be a 5 star product, especially for the price. But again - the price and how they look on my wooden espresso stools and how they saved me from buying new am very pleased. I have a cat that leaves fur all over the place so it's fantastic that I can wipe it off instead of vacuuming/rolling the lint. Brown is a deep espresso color and looks pretty smooth. Before using it for the first time, I washed it on a gentle cycle and then laid it flat to dry. I don't expect to have to wash them often as they wipe clean easily.
