As I have purchased several components to be used together, I consider them as a group and repeat the evaluation for all. My time with the product is still very short, I can only share my first impressions. RAM products are AMAZING! They tend to be at a higher level with these types of products; However, the old adage "you get what you pay for” definitely applies in this case. What I like about this product group: 1. After the devices are installed and tightened, they become stable. minimal vibration; and it doesn't rotate when you place your phone in the stand.2 - The stand's X-grip configuration ensures maximum airflow around the phone. My previous phone suffered from overheating due to prolonged exposure to the sun while in the stand. The RAM components not only provide more airflow, but also allow you to move the device further into the car, just behind the rear-view mirror, minimizing direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day. The EASIEST stand I've ever had to put my phone in and out. I currently have an LG G3. I currently have two sets of this product. One for each vehicle. LG G3 with case is a bit tight in the phone holder. It's not terrible; but I need to slant it and then straighten it. I bought the larger handle version for the second. Inserting and removing the phone has become much easier. I haven't seen a larger than normal backing yet. I will keep you up-to-date.
