Attention Be sure to read. I recently had an accident while towing my trailer attached to my Andersen hitch. The accident happened in Southern California. During the accident I was cut off and hit the car from behind at an estimated impact speed of 10 mph. "Yes, so slowly." During the accident, I felt a strong impact from behind, thinking that someone had crashed into my trailer from behind. I was wrong to discover that my newly purchased Andersen hitch, only two months old, had completely ripped off the gooseneck ball that was attached to a newly installed black and white system that didn't fail. This action caused Andersen's hitch to move. all the way to my bed, which shattered my rear window and splattered glass on me, my wife and the inside of my truck. "Thank God my kids weren't in the car. It was also found that the Andersen ball mounted on the clutch was also broken in half. As a result, I could barely get my truck to pull the trailer off the side of the freeway before I had to call a tow truck. I also found that the rear of my truck suffered moderate damage as a result of the hitch failure. I know towbars can't take that many hits, but a head-on crash at 10 mph shouldn't have caused that kind of failure. Especially when the airbags in my car didn't even deploy. This hitch failure really shocked me because if it had been a serious accident I could only have imagined where the hitch and trailer could have ended up. To scare even more, I contacted Anderson Hitchs and asked for their help in investigating the clutch failure. But of course they replied that they would do nothing and provide no help. A great way to endorse your Andersen product as the strongest clutch ever! DO NOT BUY!
