I was happy with all aspects of this camera except for one thing: the night mode is not infrared like some other cameras where the images come out with a greenish tint , but you don't lose any framerate. When shooting at night with this camera (MagicPix) the shutter speed is MUCH slower so the video is very choppy even with a tripod. The built-in LED backlight works in boost mode, but only over short distances. Otherwise this camera is great. It plugged directly into my FireWire card, and Adobe Premiere had built-in drivers for it. The video and sound quality is great, the camera size is great, and the features are very basic. If you want to customize the settings to your liking, the instruction manual is very easy to use. So if, as I suspected, you shoot a lot in VERY low light, you might want to check out how other brands' night modes work. Other than that, this is a great camera for you.
