This is not the right lens for beginners. This is a great manual lens that is closer to Canon camera compatibility. I bought it for 6D. I expected it to be a little comfortable, but it wasn't. So I had to go back to upgrade to a premium Canon lens. Although it's a manual lens, besides getting great shots, I love that it warns you if you've adjusted focus manually. But not 100%. Also make sure that you can miss a lot of shots and have focus problems when using the 10 second auto plant mode. You need to be precise and relaxed enough, have enough time to focus on the object, and not tremble in your hands at all. I recommend bringing a monopod, if not a tripod, if you plan to buy this lens. Otherwise you will not be happy at all. I would definitely buy it for a few hundred more if it came with autofocus. If you are a beginner photographer or want to learn a unique lens, don't do it. Think of the weight, this is a mandatory lens.
