I am teaching one of our teenage daughters how to sew. I have found that most beginners can only follow the pattern strictly. This book has some very nice ideas for expanding your comfort zone and boosting your creativity, which seems like a leap of faith to most beginners. I would recommend it to anyone, although the book is aimed at young women, we older girls can use some of the ideas if we change them up a bit. This is the best book on skirts I've found. I like it better than the book about Burda's skirts and much, much more than "We sew something for skirts". There are all the main styles: A-line, pencil skirt, straight skirts and a few others that I would class as skirt variations.
