Overall the kit contains everything you need (and more) to make 4 candles in pretty decorative jars (see photo) with scents and colors to choose from. The instructions aren't great, so here's my version: What you'll need: - a pot larger than the crucible that came with it - more containers to put extra candle wax in (I "topped up" an existing candle that was almost is done) Instructions : 1) Boil water in a saucepan 2) Pour one of the soy wax packets into the crucible (1 packet makes more than 1 tin candle seems overkill at this point) 4) Stir the soy wax until completely combined dissolved and no lumps remain 5) Choose one of the 6 dyes provided (they come in little plastic bags, mine were oily and crumbly). For some reason the instructions say yellow dye, but use whatever color you want! 135F before adding your choice of fragrance oil. This will help get the crucible out of the pot onto a stand to cool faster 8) Meanwhile, apply glue to the bottom of the cotton wick and glue it to the center of your chosen shape (centering jigs help - I used metal oils) 9) Once it has cooled to 135F add 5-10 drops of your fragrance oil of choice and stir (instructions say 10ml but not sure how anyone measures this) 10) Pour the entire mixture into a can ( You will If you have more than you need for 1 tin I have received jars with layers of 2-3 colors or if you have extra candles you want to fill up I highly recommend using soy wax well!) 11) Repeat these steps for each batch of soy wax you'll want to make a different color and smell! Note: If you choose to create all the candles at once, the waiting time for the Crucible to cool will add up. switch off and heat up again. You can use any other metal pot you have at home, but it would be nice to only use 1 utensil dedicated to making candles lol. Improvement feedback: - My box got oily like some others and the dyes started to crumble and crumble. The kit could still be used, but more care needs to be taken to prevent this. Things felt oily - The silicone molds seemed random and weren't mentioned in the instructions. I see in the photos that you can also make candles out of it? Lol I'd rather save them to bake and make some fun cookies or something. - The scents are a little strong and a little odd - if you have your own essential oils at home that you prefer, these are great. - The number is random. You get enough soy for just over the 4 cans that come with it. You get more than enough glue dots, cotton wicks, centering jigs, and scented oil. I thought all the centering jigs were superfluous - the metal jigs fit me well and could be reused, wasting the wood. - "Gift Card" is random and not required. All in all the kit has everything to make 4 pretty pewter candles so I was happy with that. I think this is a great starter kit to learn how to make candles. But once you learn the process with this kit, you'll have extra wicks, glue dots, and coloring - so all you need is more soy wax! Have fun and happy candle making!
