I'm really surprised more people haven't commented on the musty smell this thing produces. The manual mentions that when you first turn on the device, there may be traces of smoke or an odor, but these should evaporate quickly and not reappear. Unfortunately the stench doesn't go away anytime soon and I can only hope it goes away and doesn't come back. It has an "Advanced Dual Heating System", which means that it only has two heating elements. One of the elements is rated for 20,000 hours of operation, the other for 80,000 hours. It's good that it has a 3 year warranty because if the 20,000 hour element fails 60,000 hours before the other, it will need to be repaired. encourages people to put things on it that shouldn't be on the heater. You must be less than 6 feet away and directly in front of the device for the remote control to work stably. The manual doesn't explain the different modes of operation well and doesn't tell you what the symbols on the display dial mean. think. The review says I have a "verified purchase" but after reading the 4 and 5 star reviews I'm wondering if I have the same model. * Updated 12/25/2014. The smell did not go away as stated in the instructions. . I strongly recommend buying a different heater and not using this one.
