Review on 📏 BigHorn 19055 Figure-Caliper by Brad Schaefer

Received today. A little big, 14 inches rim to rim, 7.5 inches rim to rim, but never mind. This is 1/8" thick steel. When closed on one end it is open 1/16" on the other, but this can be corrected with a light touch of a whetstone. It was only packaged in a quilted bag, no different protection so the ends were not bent perpendicularly but bent back slightly.Ends were rounded smoothly.The edges were a bit sharp but workable, I didn't feel the need to grind the edges.As the steel is quite thin the will Center screw held by a 1/8" thick 3/4" threaded washer. I wish it was harder or thicker steel, but overall it would be a good tool for turning bowls on wood.
