There is absolutely no point in holding the cover of this system so tight that you need someone else to help you remove it or ask the company to remove it. I bought this system almost 5 years ago and it still works well. Had a little trouble getting the cover off my old one but nothing compared to this new one I just got. My husband and I are not wimps, but even with his help we did not manage to remove this thing. We even used a rubber grip oven mitt and rubber cleaning gloves to help but nothing happened. I know the filter is in there, if there is one in this one it needs to be protected but damn it! Even in the instructions, he advises "Don't give a shit, Sherlock". It also says to contact the company to have it removed, which doesn't make any sense either. I really like this system but it makes me never buy it again.
