This new gimbal from DJI offers a few improvements over the OM4, most notably the addition of a selfie stick extension, making it one of the best options if that's what you're looking for Stabilizer / Selfie Stick combo. Upgrade/Difference from OM4: Selfie Stick: OM5 has a built-in extension that can be extended up to 21.5 cm (approx. 8.5 inches) while maintaining excellent gimbal stability. - Active Track 4.0: The latest version of ActiveTrack is even more accurate and responsive and now even includes automatic face tracking for selfie mode. - Snapshot Guide: These are like video templates to help you create cool videos. Shot Guides makes suggestions based on the environment that you can follow to create more visually appealing videos. This is probably more useful for people who don't have much video experience as it gives you some good ideas to get you started. Lighter: The OM5 is a bit smaller and lighter than the OM4 and feels a bit more comfortable in my hand. A: OM5 has smaller battery than OM4 and no more phone charging port. That smaller battery means you can expect around 6.5 hours of battery life, compared to 15 hours on the OM4. MY THOUGHTS: So far I'm really liking this new OM5. The OM5 comes with a tripod, charging cable, hand strap, magnetic phone clip and carrying case. It still supports using your regular camera app, but to get the most out of it you'll need to use the DJI Mimo app for all the advanced features. (NOTE: I scanned the QR code on the box that directs you to the Mimo app download page on the DJI site. I was able to download and install it with no problems. I've seen some early reports that the Mimo version on the play store does not work on some android phones because it is an older version, the version i downloaded from dji page is version 1.6.0 and it works on all android phones, with which I tested it. The iPhone app also works. Works perfectly on my iPhones ) The app also has some helpful tutorial videos. So if you are new to using this gimbal, you can start watching these videos. I was pleased with the ability to track targets in different environments and situations. Being able to use an extender and get a wider angle is very important for vlogging and that makes it the most useful stabilizer I've found for vlogging purposes. Some people might be disappointed that it doesn't charge your phone like OM4 does, but I've never used that feature anyway; and I think I prefer a smaller and lighter design. Overall this is my favorite stabilizer now and I think it will be a valuable tool for anyone who records video on their phone. and especially for vlogging. I have never seen such a combination of selfie stick, stable 3-axis gimbal and high-quality auto-tracking on any other device.
