Too hard for manual toothbrushes

I usually like medium-hard toothbrushes. I'm one of those guys who likes to just scrub. I ordered these to try a stiffer brush and it's like brushing my teeth with a wire brush. I can't imagine that's good for the teeth, it feels like the enamel is peeling off right away. I'm glad I tried it because now I know, but I wouldn't do it. Not sure if such a hard brush is needed
