Review on Authentic GM Evaporator Emission Canister Vent Solenoid Valve (Part No. 96553405) by Robert Larris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Validated Fits 2008 Sierra 1500 V6

I'm glad I actually paid attention and looked closely at the pictures. The part I received from Revain was an exact replacement for the one I took off. First, I didn't have to jack up my truck and remove the spare tire. I'm sure it depends on the year, model and equipment, but on my truck the vaporizer was relatively easy to reach. Disconnecting the sensor from the hoses was a pain and I didn't want to deal with replacing any of the hoses. . So instead I used metal snips to cut the sensor just behind the hose connector on each side. When reinstalling the sensor I used a 5/8" heater hose with clips on both sides to connect the existing hoses to the new sensor. Out of the door, including the sensor, a foot heater hose and clamps cost about $25 Dollars. If I had gone the tin snips first it would have taken 15 minutes. I have attached a picture to give you a better idea of what it looks like with the new sensor installed. The check engine light did not come on. After I replaced the battery Once I plugged it back in and started the truck I may have to drive it for a bit to make sure the problem gets fixed, but I'm feeling pretty good because I cleared the code with a scan tool earlier and it always comes back right away became.
