After a week of use, the glue no longer sticks.
Everything worked very well for the first week. It took a little getting used to putting it in the spring-loaded mounts and removing it the same way, but it quickly becomes apparent that this is the best way to handle the fixation. But after about a week the glue stopped sticking and now it just sits in my back seat and taunts me. I don't know if it was the surface it was mounted on, the dashboard of my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which isn't particularly porous, or if exposure to direct sunlight caused it to lose adhesion.
