So there seems to be differing opinions as to what a cup is. When promoting a product, you must use official sizes so everything is on one page. For example, the mugs my grandmother used (I have a few of these) hold 3.0 ounces. That's about 10.67 "cups" per pot (this pot). The "mugs" I use weigh 16 ounces. That's about 2 cups per pot. 8 ounce cup. - Period. look it up This pot holds 33.0 oz and makes 4 cups. IN RELATION, this is a great unit. Just know you're getting a 32-ounce pot, and if it's good, you're done.
