Good for small dogs that don't pull too much

I have 2 Bichons - a 20 month old is about 15 pounds, another 8 month old is about 7.5 pounds now. I've been using these lines for about 16 months. Mostly when we visit and play with their Maltese friend across the street, which we do a few times a week in spring/autumn/summer for about an hour (less in winter). When 3 dogs are chasing each other in the yard, the lines are subject to some violence. You will inevitably get confused. But compared to the lines that the Maltese has, they are much easier to handle. They are much more flexible and better suited for a small dog that doesn't really pull or chew on them. They are strong enough to withstand occasional pulls. My older girl doesn't reach the end of the leash often, but she will from time to time. She has some muscles so it's not an easy pull when she walks, but I'm not worried about the cord snapping. With a toddler, she's been using this since she weighed about 4 pounds. The clasp is very light and not too big for a small pup. I think this is a good product. However, understandably, they don't last forever. I've had about a year of use with relatively sporadic use and storage inside (although they'll probably last longer if not mixed with other lines on a regular basis). The photo shows the first line I bought just before I threw it away. The cable was exposed in several places. The leash became brittle, twisted/tangled and occasionally tangled in the dog's fur. I managed to live with the pup for a few more months but I wouldn't trust my older girl with that. When I noticed that the wire was starting to break (thin and sharp threads), I threw it away. I bought 3 of these, 2 new and one 'as new' from Revain's inventory (definitely not 'as new' but not used enough to send them back). I expect to have to buy at least one replacement by the end of summer. But for the price and what I use it for, I like the product.
