I used this in a 20 inch charcoal fireplace. The "grid" and logs fit perfectly, but I had to cut 2 inches from either side of the plastic. Reflector. I was able to pull the cord down and the ash flew into a vent in my basement. Here's what you need to know: - fragile so careful assembly is required - the plug comes out on the right side of the heater - it makes no noise when the heater is off - the heater works well and it's very quiet too . In the attached video the heater is on top. The "grids" are plastic, which gave me the opportunity to put them in a small fireplace. The on/off button is on the right leg (see attached image). The remote control must be clean to work. - "Fire" is created by lights behind a rounded plastic panel. The bottom of the plastic panel is highly polished to hide the light. Look closely and you can see the rounded top of the panel in the video. I darkened the top and bottom edges of the plastic sheet with a black marker.
