This is my first induction cooktop and I'm so in love with the technology that I'm changing out all my pots and pans. I have lots of aluminum and sadly some stainless that just aren't compatible but I'll replace them gladly to enjoy the benefits of induction. The main advantages here are that the cooking surface stays cool until a pot is on top, the surface cools off quickly once you remote a pot, and you can set a timer for things. Want to boil eggs for 12 minutes? Set the timer and walk away. Grab that omelet and serve it but forget to turn off the burner? No problem--it's off already. Cool stuff. This induction cooktop is well made and comes well packaged in protective cardboard. There's fans under the burners to cool the housing from the radiated heat of the pan but I didn't really feel much heat there. The cook top cooled off much faster than my radiant heat stove. I intentionally spilled some eggs and was able to wipe it clean with a wet cloth. The touch controls are mostly intuitive and work well. The glass surface has been easy to clean and hasn't scratched so far.
