Until we encountered the post, we didn't realize these capacitors had failed or weren't working properly. I installed 5 of these fans throughout the house and the difference was significant. Over the years all of our fans have stopped running as fast as they used to, but we didn't really notice as it happened gradually. Once the exchange was complete, it was like having new fans. The exchange itself wasn't too complicated. I just swapped the wires one by one as some of them are the same color and I didn't want to mix them up. You'll also need a small pickaxe or small flathead screwdriver to pry the old wires out of the connectors.
