Pretty decent product

Bought for my 2020 Tacoma. At first the bluetooth connection process didn't work. I had to disconnect and reconnect my phone (ios) to the truck like I had never connected my phone to the truck before. The next time I got into my truck, carlinkit wouldn't connect to my phone, so I had to take my phone out of the truck and start over. I was very upset and wanted to send it back. I was able to get carlinkit to reconnect and immediately did a firmware update as the guide recommended. Since then, every time I get in my truck, it connects automatically. I see a connection problem when my phone is already connected to something else (home network) via Wi-Fi. Something to troubleshoot: 1. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings on your phone (I have iOS) should be enabled, but you don't need to connect Wi-Fi to anything.2. If the WiFi is connected to anything when you are about to get in your car, I would turn it off to allow the WiFi to connect to carlinkit.3 freely. Immediately after the first good connection to carlinkit and the Carplay message on your car's display, perform a firmware update.4. Before purchasing this device, be sure to check the website to determine if your vehicle is compatible with the software. Your vehicle must have a factory Carplay display or it will not work.

Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
