It worked - with some effort.
I was able to replace my old damaged power cord with a store bought one, but it wasn't easy. The wires weren't the same color as my Makita circular saw and there was a green ground wire that I didn't need that I just cut off. With some liquid soap, the rubber anchor could be pushed through the hole in the saw handle. I also had to cut the connector off the wire and strip the insulation to insert the bare wire into the plastic transition.
