My father often had an accident if he didn't get to the urinal on time. I simply dabbed the areas, removed residual moisture with salt, vacuumed off the salt and finally cleaned with carpet cleaner. With this method, too, the odor of urine or ammonia remained. I was really hoping that this product would get rid of the lingering smell when I let the carpet dry after cleaning. It is not so. Worse, when I tried to vacuum, many of the pellets stayed on the carpet and crunched when we walked on them. Picking them up was another task and meant vacuuming the area multiple times to try and pick them all up at once. My friend told me about a dollar store product that you can just pour and vacuum and it really works! It was just a big disappointment.
