I accidentally discovered that if you use HDMI >> this HDMI to DVI adapter >> DVI to HDMI cable (basic amazon), the audio signal goes through the cables wanders! STRANGE! So what does that mean? This means that while this device works exactly as intended (it splits the audio signal from an incoming HDMI signal into several different analog audio connectors, allowing you to connect a sound system while outputting a DVI signal for video), it means that you can complete the audio output from the adapter and save the audio signal on your monitor/TV when using a DVI to HDMI cable. This is a strange feature. Otherwise this device works as intended.
