I have a new Apple TV and the remote control is terrible. I'm not kidding, it's really awful. If you put your Apple TV remote next to you and, god forbid, accidentally touch it, you've jumped 40 minutes and ruined the ending of your favorite movie. Two people on the couch? Forget it. Luckily, THIS remote doesn't care if you accidentally touch it - it just ignores it and lets you get on with what you're doing. There is no judgement. Because he knows it was just an accident. It doesn't go into a fit. No switching between applications, pausing and charging, it just works. It doesn't come with those cute unbranded AAAs, so you'll need 2 before you toss your Apple TV remote across the room. Oh, and it works with the new Vizio soundbar and my old, heavy, tank-like Sharp. A television that has survived its remote control because it is from Soviet times. So it's safe to say that this remote control is universal.
