I've been using these Conair trimmers for years to help me trim my hair. As long as I have a comb, barber scissors, these trimmers, and a portable mirror to see the back of my head in a vanity mirror, I have no problem trimming my hair after the shower. It is best to use the trimmer on wet hair and eventually the trimmer will need to be replaced when the blades become dull but they will last quite a while. You won't be able to get that shaved tapered look, but you can taper your hair for a box cut look.
