Review on πŸ”Œ Fluke Networks PTNX2 Pocket Tester: Compact and High-Performance Testing Solution by Christian Young

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well, good design, fine workmanship

Happy with the purchase. I've used it to sort through the messy mess of cables left over from DirecTV, Dish, Comcast, and AT&T installers over the years. It won't replace traditional toner if you have a lot of unfamiliar coaxial cables that need to be identified, but it works well if you only have a small handful. You don't have to screw the main tester all the way in to hear the sound - just touch the center core and it will sound. Of course, if the cable breaks somewhere along the way, this tester can't figure that out. . My old Fluke LAN tester can show the distance at which the break occurred, but getting that bad boy out of memory is overkill (and expensive) if you just want to identify wires. You can buy additional feedback blocks and they will be identified. on the tester's display with a different letter, depending on who you are contacting - very practical. You can also purchase a breakout module for Category 3 cables or even unterminated electrical cables. I bought it for private use at home and it turned out to be very convenient. I also appreciate the ability to expand the utility of this probe by purchasing various add-ons if/when the need arises.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
