Fuel inlet screw has been molded - needs drilling

Pump received all looks pretty good for use on a 1969 Evinrude 9.5hp outboard. I had to buy longer bolts to mount them to the engine but it didn't make much of a difference, just inconvenient. Went through the carburetor, dots, impeller etc. When it came time to start the engine for the first time in probably over 15 years I was able to get it running for a few seconds by manually injecting fuel into the carburetor , but it didn't seem to work. received fuel. The fill light seemed a bit odd to me so I disconnected the fuel hose from the fuel pump to make sure it was getting fuel and that everything was ok. I unscrewed the front plate of the pump to make sure it was out of the strainer and there were no traces of fuel in the pump. The inlet hose notch was completely blocked, as if it had been covered by a cast. I drilled out the burr on the intake hose and everything worked like a champ.
