Decent pruning shears

I have a lot of plants that need to be trimmed back regularly: roses, hydrangeas, butterfly bush, hollies, etc. They are fairly young so they don’t have thick woody growth that would necessitate heavy-duty trimmers.I have been using a pair of pruners the past two years that someone used to cut wire with, and so they are bumpy and got dulled to the point of being almost unusable. I decided to give these Yiyitools a try since we have some hand tools from the company that work well. What I like about these shears:- The handles are super comfortable. There is molded rubber over the handles and the shape of the handle themselves have bumps to mold into your hand shape.- A good locking mechanism is a must have for me because I have a 4-year-old. This pair is sturdy and doesn’t pop back open when trying to cut like I have experienced with some other brands.- The blades open wide and open and close smoothly without any resistance.- The set is the perfect size for the types and maturity of the plants I need to cut (both green growth and several year old woody growth).- The blades started out sharp (we’ll see how they remain).- This set isn’t too heavy for me - seems like a good weight without fatigue. What I do’t like as much:- There is no notch for trimming wires or ties.- These don’t seem as high quality as the previous brand. The molded material on the handle looks plasticky.- It’s hard to say if these are carbon steel blades and can be resharpened many times - the description doesn’t say. I am going to assume not, but will update this listing if I find otherwise.
