I have a 2014 Ford Edge and like all other owners of this model car I had the same problem: I couldn't put my phone anywhere while driving. Some people buy coasters that fit in cup trays, but I found them too bulky and in the way. I like to keep things simple. It was the best option I found and I'm happy with it. It doesn't bother when not in use, when in use it keeps my phone at a higher elevation, and because it's on a vent it keeps my phone cool at all times when using GPS with the screen on. The magnet is really strong and protects my phone from hard hits. The only cons I can say about this is that you can say you lose the vent with it, mine barely moves when attached to it and when the phone is on there is almost no airflow through that hole , at least for the driver and depending on the size of your phone. When I first took my phone out, the base moved with it, but that was a matter of physics. You cannot pull the phone directly towards you as the magnet stays attached. Instead, you have to grab your phone from the top or the side and pull like you're peeling off a sticker (diagonally).
