We sleep in a truck tent. Aside from having to pole vault to get on the back door of our 2500, I love it. Someone else said they bought it to add 'steps' to their truck, so I gave it a try. That's great! We used it all day to set up a tent. It adds three extra steps that are evenly spaced. It's a few inches under the back door. It's easy enough to wiggle until you find a spot that doesn't wiggle. Since the ground when camping is usually uneven, the four separate legs of this ladder are easier to stabilize than the joined legs. It's definitely durable - my husband feels safe in it. It is light enough for easy carrying. The steps are not smooth. They have little waves on them. The only thing you have to come down from is going down backwards in the same position you came in, but it's definitely better than pole vaulting!
