Although it's been months since my Le Creuset Salt Pig was tragically destroyed, I was reluctant to make this purchase. As you may have noticed, there are many conflicting reviews pointing to the species: is it really terrible? Wonderful? Not what is listed? Will it even contain salt or maybe ignite spontaneously? I could have just gotten a different jug as it's guaranteed to be exactly the same as my previous one, but the olive tree on this one was so pretty... The price has come down recently so I figured that was a sign. And it turns out that everything is fine. The salt shaker is nice, heavy and holds a little less than a cup of salt. Does that mean you'll be just as good? I have no idea but I think I have to vote for what appears to be a very beautiful, functional work of art for my kitchen.
