I tried to wrap my AEM intake box with lava shield in combination with high temp spray glue. I wiped the metal inlet with alcohol, rinsed with water and made sure it was dry before installing. Spray on the glue and leave for 30 seconds (as directed in the glue instructions). I put on a lava shield with a heat shield and it didn't stick. The edges started to fray and I checked out the Heatshield Products YouTube page which said you need to spray clear paint on the edges to combat fraying. I did that, but it didn't help much. The wear and tear has gotten worse. My AEM intake is looking like a mess at the moment and after measuring the operating temperatures of my intake before and after installing the heat shield there was no difference. I don't know what else needs to be done to make this product work, but I am disappointed and frustrated that my new AEM CAI is broken.
