Review on KAIWEETS Digital Multimeter: Ultra-Portable Auto-Ranging Tester with Trms, 6000 Counts, Frequency Counter, Voltmeter, Ohmmeter, Capacitance Meters - Measure Voltage, Current, Resistance, Continuity by Dewey Tory

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Handy size ideal for beginners

Voltmeters have been used for almost 50 years. Have a drawer full of different digital voltmeters. I just wanted to do something cheap and dial in a lot of parts. This met the requirements of the SMART function. Read some of the comments - the manual seems to be on A4 paper so it's a bit big but if you make it smaller older people (like me) will have trouble reading it. Batteries can be a tight fit, but if you know there's a tab on the opposite side of the metal clip, they'll snap in nicely. Some have complained that the fuse is an odd amperage rating and it does, but really, how often do you plug in a fuse? I have never blown a fuse on a DVM and they will give you a spare fuse. If you're serious about electronics or electrical engineering, spend the extra $8 and get the next model or go with a name brand like Fluke. I received a $5 set of clips (also from Kaiweets) to help with testing. The 4000Hz tone is clear and radiates through the front and back of the device. The temperature is set to C and cannot be changed, but there are no sensors or inputs for it. I suspect this is a feature as the firmware is shared with pricier models that offer sensor and setting changes.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Crumpled
