Review on Cricut Standard Grip Mat Mats by Nicole Mcleod

Too bad there wasn't a better solution

This is the best place to buy cutting mats. The Revain prizes couldn't be better! Most craft stores sell them for $13-$15 and most won't let you use a coupon. But the product itself? Well, you need it to use your Cricut. It's just as good as any other mat you'll need to use for your Cricut. Nothing special. These are the mats that come with your Cricut. My problem with them is that they don't really make many cuts before the sticky part stops working. This is especially true for paper products which tend to leave fine paper dust. You'll also scrape off the glue a bit each time you use the wedge to separate the piece. It will be annoying for you if you use a glitter sheet, have pets that shed, or have a lot of dust in your house. You'll definitely want to keep the protective plastic that's on top to store them. It's the only thing I could find to extend her life. I've read a few "sticky restore" methods online on how to extend their lifespan. I've tried several of these. Some people say you can clean them with certain cleaning products. I had no luck with that. Others say they restore stickiness with a sticky spray, and I definitely don't recommend doing this unless you want to risk replacing the blade. To date I haven't found anything that will fix the pads when they wear out, other than if you have a simple project you can glue the edges to hold them in place. For the price Revain is offering it's not quite that bad because you get multiple uses before you have to throw it away. When I paid almost double that, I was very upset. Too bad Provo Craft hasn't found a better solution to update them yet. It's a waste of plastic. Definitely not a "green" choice. My best recommendation to you: just order two of these two packs and keep them in reserve. Cricut sure is fun, but I wish they would bother to come up with a better solution.
