These are great speakers for the money, like a stock car audio system. Of course you won't get much bass from 5x7s, they aren't subwoofers, you're just getting a certain amount of amps out of the radio channel without going through an amplifier. Yes of course, turn it on, it will sound distorted and broken because you probably just blew them, not meant for that. When it says 300w it means they can handle it, they might not sound that great but it's what they can handle without blowing it up and when it says 300w it means they can being able to handle it might not sound great, but it's something they can handle without blowing their minds. otherwise great speakers
