Say goodbye to NO WiFi!

As my work has shifted to 100% remote work as a result of the pandemic, it's time to upgrade my network. We had a Netgear 2.4 GHz dual band modem router that was released around 2012. Since almost every electronic device now needs some kind of WiFi connection, at least to set it up, and all my work devices need a permanent connection at home, three children and a wife with an active social media presence, we set out on each other's paths. . A kid can start streaming videos while the wife is in a Zoom meeting and I need to be on a Teams call for work, someone ends up on the short end of the stick. Our ex router/modem was pretty much smack in the middle of the house, mostly open so the wi-fi signal had no problem getting through, just being overwhelmed by so many devices (multiple TVs, tablets of some sort), phones, gaming systems and laptops). The first stop was a speed test and a call to the ISP. After increasing our Wi-Fi speed, there are some improvements, but not enough to make a huge difference. To start the research, after reviewing several options and asking questions, I got a few hits on the Netgear Orbi mesh system. I'm not a brand person when it comes to the internet, but I've had good luck with Netgear products. Right out of the box it looks stylish and modern, very minimalist and easy to understand, just like the IKEA instructions. As long as you follow these instructions, installing and getting started is very easy. Most likely you will have to call the technical department. Their ISP to register the device but when they do something like Spectrum for me that was easy. The Orbi Mesh System application is extremely easy to use if you're interested in monitoring your home network's performance, security, etc. The performance of the modem is completely superior to any modem that your provider provides you with. System with Orbi router only. In terms of speed and coverage, given the layout of my house, I haven't found an area where I've lost the main router's signal and switched to satellite. I can walk 50 feet from the back or front door and still be connected to the network. I have way more coverage than I need in my house, but I couldn't find just a modem/router on my own. The speed of the Internet provider is 400 Mbit/s, the modem model is designed for speeds up to 500 Mbit/s. Apparently we can't overload our network! We can stream movies or shows to any screen at home while playing an online game and have a Zoom call and a separate Teams call at the same time without experiencing buffering, crashes or crashes. I recommend this home network setup to everyone! Much better than using a WiFi signal booster or extender, you often lose connection when moving around the house as you lose your main network and have to connect to an extended one. This system is guaranteed to deliver clear, STRONG Wi-Fi signals to every part of your home. My colleague built a house next to his mother and installed a satellite in her house so she could receive his signal and share his internet, that's how powerful this mesh system is!
