Such a great tool. Why didn't I know about this before?

What a great tool! If you've ever tried making false cuts to fit something around a tricky object (like a corner molding) and wanted to trim your flooring to fit tricky corners, this is the tool you need in your arsenal. I recently worked with some people to renovate a room in an old church and the walls weren't square. However, we had to put in a new floor and cut it out to match some of the moldings in the wall. I wish I had this contour gauge handy. So I went and got one and tested it to see if it would actually do what it said it would. used it to carve a piece of wood (better safe than sorry - test it out before using it on a real floor) and then got to work. Ideally the scrap could be cut with a saber saw but I couldn't find one. So I pulled out a multi-tool (not a perfect tool, but it worked) and made a quick test cut. The photos I have provided show that I was able to make a nice, accurate cut and very quickly with this contour gauge. This would have taken much longer if a ruler and tape measure had been used. WIE: Numbers are easy to read. " wide so I had no trouble measuring a larger section. It can be used to measure very irregular shapes. It has a locking mechanism to prevent the measuring blades from slipping off once you are happy with your measurements .Relatively easy to loop around the edge and use this as a guide.DISLIKES: No. For the money it really does the job If you've never used anything like this it takes a while to get used to , but once you get the hang of it, you'll love it.Recommended.If you found this review helpful, please click the USEFUL button.
