PENN-Plax Cascade 600 Submersible Aquarium Filter.

I use this in my Penn-Plax Cascade 600 scuba aquarium filter along with a sheet of polyester litter and Biomax. In this order. I also decided to customize my filters to suit my needs so they just work better for me and my scuba filter came with this original sponge and I loved it so I kept investing in it instead of the carbon cartridge. There is nothing wrong with Penn Plax carbon cartridges, I just chose not to use them because my water is fine, it comes from our local well. I have one more filter at the end. And with this setup and filtration, I don't have to worry about bad odors or cloudy water. It stays perfectly clean and I have a 3 year old 5 1/2" Red Eared Slider and 3 blood parrot cichlids, two of which are 2" and one of my parrotfish is 4". and I have no problem. The dirt from the sponge I only wash out the aquarium water every month with a large water change. Because I can handle weekly and monthly water changes, I don't have to clean the sponge often and it doesn't clog up. I don't keep juvenile fish, fish, shrimp or other small creatures in this aquarium. It could also be due to the fact that I only feed my fish in the aquarium Jade, my red-eared slider, is fed all the time in a 20 sterile tub apart from the occasional crab treat that she eats out of my hands Shipping was quick and the sponge arrived in perfect condition. Thank you.
