Perfect for a handle, not a pot
One of the main advantages of a carbon steel pot is that it moves smoothly between the stove and the oven. The Lodge pen holder negates this advantage. While the pen gets really hot in the oven, the silicone pen holder also fails. The silicone gets too hot to hold and requires . thumbtack. In a way, the surprisingly tight fit defeats the purpose. I should be able to slide the holder slightly when I put the pan in the oven, but removing the holder isn't that easy. This pan holder is perfect for a pen but not for using a pan.
