After suffering while slicing homemade bread, I wanted to find a slicer that would make this process easier. This item was well priced compared to other items and came with a bread knife. Haven't tried the knife yet as I already have a good knife but it was a pleasure to work with. Now… I only used it once and then went back to the product page because I didn't understand why I wasn't able to cut the whole bread! It seemed that the goal was not achieved! Well... I looked again at the photos of the product and realized I had misadjusted it. You don't just lift the sides and do it... no... you rotate the sides and they "snap" into place until you're done. You can then simply slide the side back to unlock and slide the sides back down for storage. (And I mean rotate 270 degrees, not 90 degrees. Technically, 90 degrees is upside down and doesn't cut all the way through the loaf.) Now that I know how to use it properly, I'm pretty sure that it works great for my next bread. After seeing another review complaining about the same thing, I realized I had to write my own to resolve this issue. I'm sure there will be more people having this problem and hopefully this will help someone else in the future.
