Expensive grip with semi-rigid construction. The handle is made in Taiwan, not Japan. Canon probably wants to save money on manufacturing and increase profits with this popular product. The battery compartment feels very flimsy and is made out of cheap plastic that would likely stick in your hands when working in the field. It looks great paired with my EOS 5D4 camera and the exterior design looks solid. I only bought it to help me with heavy battery usage, GPS and WiFi take a lot of strain off the 5D4. Unless you need extra performance, probably avoid this product. In addition, the camera is very heavy. It would be better if this grip cost $200 or less, or if better materials were used.
